New Walther WMP

Walther has made a surprising release, the WMP or Walther Magnum Pistol. Optics ready, featuring both button and paddle magazine releases, true ambidextrous controls, and packing 15 rounds of 22 Magnum.

Specs and information below comes directly from the Walther press release. We've not had a chance to review this pistol yet but it certain is interesting. 22 Magnum is a fun round for various applications. For self defense some consider it marginal, but modern ammunition loads have brought the round a long ways. Most importantly, a pistol that is easy to rack, light weight, and has negligible recoil is more likely to be carried and used than the opposite. As a firm believer that any caliber is better than no caliber, and that being able to confidently land hits beats nervous misses, I'm not one to question this concept as a carry gun for those who need it. I'm certainly not volunteering to be shot with .22 Magnum.

Can't go wrong with a Walther. I would definitely choose the Walther over the Keltec pmr 30. The fact that its optic ready is awesome. 15 rds of 22 magnum is nothing to scoff at. I would carry it for self defense. It would be good for kids, people with limited strength,, or first time shooters. Curious about the size of it. I can't wait to see your tabletop & shooting impressions. Hurry up & get the review posted.

Walther WMP in 22WMR... I love how folks think that every round BUT the one they prefer is "inferior". 1500 feet per second is nothing to be trifled with! A lightweight gun with manageable recoil firing a round no one wants to get hit with... I'll bite!
