Modern Fighting Rifle (MFR) from Dark Storm Industries

The Dark Storm Industries Modern Fighting Rifle is launching in four color schemes.

In the past we've covered a few different models from Dark Storm Industries. While they also offer standard AR-15s, I apprecaite Dark Storm's efforts to be different. This includes the Variant 1 non-NFA firearm and their 50-state legal build. To me, it seems like Dark Storm Industries is always looking for ways to celebrate freedom and help Americans be armed as best as possible.

The addition of right-side bolt controls on the Dark Storm Industries Modern Fighting Rifle is exciting. ALL controls are ambidextrous.

This latest release, the MFR, to me is very appropriately named. From muzzle device to buffer tube nearly every part has been updated and upgraded from the now 60-year old original recipe. That's a fact that I think too many people overlook. Material sciences, manufacturing capabilities, and our understanding of firearms have advanced greatly since the 1960s, so why not modernize a great platform?

The DSI Modern Fighting Rifle has replaced the wear-prone aluminum nub on the upper receiver with a smart, user-servicable steel pin.

The Dark Storm Industries MFR is available in four color setups at launch, all using non-IR reflective Cerakote. That's why my green rifle has such a bright green on theh handguard, because at the time this was made it was the only green with those properties. The other options are black, FDE, and a very cool-looking camo. Below are the specifications for this build.
