"Heckler & Koch USA Introduces the G36 .22 LR

HK hass announced the release of a G36 chambered in .22 LR. Similar to the MP5 SD model I've enjoyed, this might be the fun and inexpensive way to enjoy an iconic firearm. Just like that MP5 SD model, the G36 .22LR is produced by Umarex, but dimensionally is the same as the real thing. Official press release below.
"Columbus, Georgia – Heckler & Koch, a global leader in small arms, is excited to announce the release of the new G36 .22 LR.
Since adoption by the German Bundeswehr in 1997, the iconic G36 has been the gold standard modern rifles continue to emulate. From its ability to fire with a folded stock, its completely modular design, ambidextrous controls, and short-stroke piston system, the combat-proven G36 is still used to protect and serve countries worldwide.
HK has once again partnered with Umarex of Germany to create the most realistic civilian version of the G36 yet. So realistic, in fact, that most of the original accessories and furniture will mount securely to give the same look and feel as the original G36. Whether being used as a fun range gun, or a sub-caliber trainer, the G36 .22 is a high quality and reliable firearm ready for whatever you throw its way.
“The G36 .22 has been a labor of love. The G36 .22 is the enthusiast’s rimfire: from its iconic silhouette, ambidextrous controls, and smooth recoil experience, we ensured that G36 .22 is no mere imitation – it is a fully-functional and fully-featured rifle,” said Nathan Schueth, Director of Sales & Business Development.” Our partners knocked it out of the park. The G36 .22 features wide compatibility with existing G36 accessories and is begging to be customized!” "
