Recently we covered Franklin Armory's binary trigger system for the Glock 17. I had long mocked binary triggers as a coping mechanism for those who would rather spend money on equipment than training, but that experience proved me wrong. Not only was I able to fire faster with the binary system than without, but it proved incredibly controllable.
Remember, one thing that sets the Franklin Armory system apart from other's is the ability to cancel that second shot. This level of control is paramount in responsibly enjoying binary fire. If you hadn't read that article yet, binary triggers enable you to fire upon pulling the trigger and upon releasing the trigger. This is completely legal and does not meet the definition of a machine gun as it only fires once per function of the trigger.

Original press release about the Glock 19 system from Franklin Armory:
First Binary Firing System® for Glock® 19 Joins Franklin Armory® G-Series Lineup
MINDEN, Nev. – October 14, 2024 – Franklin Armory®, Inc., one of America’s most innovative manufacturers of firearms and accessories, announced today the new G-S193, the first Binary® trigger and slide kit for the popular Glock 19 Gen 3. Engineered with Franklin Armory’s patented Binary Firing System® (BFS™), G-S193 joins G-S173 (for Glock 17 Gen 3) and G-S223 (for Glock 22 Gen 3) in the G-Series lineup as the only pull-and-release triggers to provide Glock users with the ability to actively select between regular semiautomatic and Binary® firing modes and safely cancel the release round. Shipping for the new G-S193 Binary® trigger and slide kit is expected to begin this quarter.
Created to work with the more compact Glock® 19 Gen 3, G-S193 features include:
Binary®/Semiautomatic selector paddle
Front and rear tritium night sights
Optics ready to accommodate multiple adapter plates (sold separately)
Semi/Binary® mode indicator on back plate
High-tactile front and rear slide serrations
Anti-glare slide top serrations
In Binary® mode, a single round is fired when the trigger is pulled and a single round is fired when the trigger is released. One of the revered safety features incorporated into all Franklin Armory BFS™ triggers is the ability to cancel the release round. To cancel the release round on G-S193, simply move the selector located on the slide from Binary® to the “semi” position before releasing the trigger.
Attendees of the 2024 National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW) Expo in Kansas City are encouraged to learn more about the new G-S193 by visiting Franklin Armory’s booth (#1306). Additional information about how Franklin Armory’s BFS™ works can be viewed in the video: “Why Binary® is Better.”
