Canik Mete MC9!

Many of you know we are the source for Canik handgun information as we've spent substantial time with several of their models over the last several years. This inspired us to write the Canik Guide (updates obviously will be coming), and now we're happy to share the news of the micro compact Canik fans have been waiting for. Below is the official press release information. We'll include our own analysis after we get more time with the gun.

UPDATED 13FEB23 FULL REVIEW HERE:

Canik Prepares To Launch Their Micro Compact Pistol with the Mete MC9

Delray Beach, Fla. – (January 17, 2023)

– Team Canik is coming into 2023 with the goal of giving the consumer exactly what they have asked for! The next step in meeting this challenge has now been checked with the introduction of the Canik Mete MC9. The new micro compact pistol has been in the works by Canik for three years, going through multiple internal and aesthetic changes in order to find the optimal performance level demanded by the end user. “Being first to market was never the goal for us” said Canik USA National Marketing Director Adam Ruonala. “The MC9 is the perfect example of Canik’s commitment to take our time and do things the right way. We thought this out, we considered every option, we listened to what was really asked for, and we created a platform that meets all of the needs of a relatively new space in the handgun market. The Canik Mete MC9 truly was Prepared Superior.”

The Canik Mete MC9 is chambered in 9x19 mm with a capacity of 12+1 and 15+1 (both magazine options included in the standard packaging). The MC9 supports an overall length of 6.1 inches, a width of just 1.12 inches, a height of 4.52 inches (with magazine), a barrel length of 3.18 inches, and an unloaded weight of a mere 21.2 ounces. The Mete MC9 comes optics ready with 100% co-witness capability. Each Mete MC9 comes in a hard case and includes the two magazines, an inside the waistband holster, 3 sized backstraps, tool kit and punch, speed loader, pinky rest, and cleaning kit. The Mete MC9 will be initially offered in black, flat dark earth (FDE), and two tone black/fde. All three models will have an aggressively priced MSRP of $439.99.

The Canik Mete MC9 will make its debut appearance at Shot Show 2023 with initial orders being placed this week and is scheduled to be available to the US consumer in March of this year. For more information on the Canik Mete MC9 visit https://www.canikusa.com/mete-mc9.

The MC9 is definitely on my radar. What's really cool is that Canik stated that the MC9 can use mags from all other models. The TP9 Elite SC should've been what the MC9 is, as I've always thought the Elite SC wasn't a true subcompact (it's thick and rather big to be considered a subcompact).

Canik has so many different models. They are always coming out with something new & innovative, instead of staying stagnant or producing models nobody wants, unlike Glock for instance. I have 4 of their models. The og Canik 55 tp9, elite s, elite sc, & the elite combat. I am not a fan of sub or micro compact handguns. That being said, I shoot my elite sc as good or better than alot of my other handguns. I probably won't be getting the mc9 but I am glad Canik made it. I am sure alot of people will love it.
